Types of interpreting
• Simultaneous interpreting: speech is interpreted simultaneously; used at conferences and large events
• Consecutive interpreting: speech is interpreted after a short interval, section by section; used for meetings and speeches
• Whispered interpreting: speech is interpreted simultaneously and directly; used for individual persons or small groups
• Liaison interpreting: speech is interpreted for a particular situation; used for example for social meetings and visits
